#foodforthought don't put limits on your dreams Beauties, of you can imagine it you CAN make it come true. #TrustMeImAnArchitect well, almost.
My mom loves plants & has more than some plant shops I've visited. I've learned (the hard way & to moms misfortune) that when a plant has stopped blooming or the leaves have started falling off it doesn't mean that the plant is dead or dying.
I never thought about it this way but in life we also go through seasons. Sometimes they're cold & harsh marked by struggle and we feel like the sun will never shine on us again, like were falling apart, or not going to make it through.
Don't give up friends. This is just a season, a passing storm.
Spring is on it's way. It's just around the corner.
If you can push through like a mighty oak tree you'll be even stronger & no one knows how far the seeds of your life will travel. Or like the lily which takes time to rejuvenate itself during the winter, you might need to take a moment to stop & evaluate before going further.
You'll be in bloom again under the warm summer sun.
Don't give up on yourself or your dreams.
The other night I had a thought that I wanted to share. For those of you who know me from college you'll remember that my Architectural thesis was for a space in a virtual reality. For those of who who weren't there to experience the drama first hand, before I could design a space that couldn't be physically inhabited for a project that should have been for a "real space" I had to prove that the thesis I proposed would qualify under a broader definition of "real" and "space". Long story short perception came to play a big role in my analysis & I came across the work of M.C. Escher. He's most well known for the images of all the stairs that look like they're going in more than one direction at once.
You know it when you see it. Any geek worth their salt has heard of an Escher room and If I were to describe it to someone who is unfamiliar, the most relevant pop culture reference I can think are the stairs in the Harry Potter movies that swing from one place to another and change direction. Only in the Escher images the stairs aren't actually moving, only your perception of their direction changes.
Out of no were I had the thought that success is like an Escher drawing! Here's why.
In today's Morning Musings video I share some of my thoughts on how we think about our businesses and view success. I'll share some advice for how I encourage myself to push through difficult times.
Here's a link to the song I mentioned https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8HqyEHqEYho
Have an awesome day Beauties!
Carpé diem BAUS ladies!
Every day is an opportunity for your actions to define you. Choose carefully what you want your legacy to be.
Be positive and dream big!
This month is the 1 year anniversary of the Avon Legacy of Empowering Women video! Seeing that made me realize two things. The first was "Wow. It's been a year already!" The second was that since last year there's a whole new batch of empowered women out there because of Avon. The legacy continues!
So, cheers to all the women (and a few good men) who...
I'm glad were not just a company that sells lipstick...we're a solution to a multitude of problems...
We are the cause of the smiles beneath the lipstick!
Then it hit me. I see now that THAT is what makes this company beautiful!
Avon: Legacy of Empowering Women
I was watching this funny #fail video on Facebook and I had the following thought...
We all have the kind of people in our lives who are just waiting for us to fail. Maybe they never have good things to say - constantly filling our heads with their negativity, or they're waiting for us to mess up so they can laugh & say "I told you so", or they're actually intentionally setting us up for failure. Sadly, they can be the same people we consider friends or family.
Well, sometimes we have to be like the guy in this video and turn the crap that others meant for us back into their face! With style and with a smile. Instead of taking things as they are, overcome the bad that others meant for us and use it as a chance to shine!
Standing under that bowl of water this guy had a choice. Choose to be a victim and let the things his friend said about him happen... or... be a ninja & change the game.
Each of us has the same choice.
I choose ninja!
What about you?
Welcome BAUS Beauties!
