1. How to keep makeup off fingers
...and inevitably my drawings, paper work, jeans etc
The solution to #1 was the most obvious but not the easiest habit to break: STOP TOUCHING YOUR FACE!
No brainier right? Until you start wearing makeup, you don't really know how often you touch your face.
You rub your eyes- good bye eye shadow, liner, & mascara hello Sly Cooper.
You massage your temples- letting the stress melt away until you touch the drawing you spent all night on.
You prop your chin up during class then personally stamp the $200 textbook you were planning to resell as "like new".
Scratch your nose, wipe hair out of your face, or do this...

2. How to keep makeup from sliding off
It took me a few years to get this one. Slippery makeup can be the result of a combination of things such as:
- No primer. Think of it as Gesso for your face. Try Magix Face Perfector but don't get too carried away or you'll end up with...
- Too much primer. Yea, been there too. Use primer in moderation. Remember its not a moisturizer. A little goes a long way. Apply a thin coat to give your foundation something to stick to.
- The wrong foundation for your skin type. If you have oily skin like mine, the primer will help but stay away from anything that says "dewy" or "moisturizing". Those are fine for dry or normal skin types. As a matter of fact for dry skin you really want to moisturize & use moisturizing formulas or your makeup wont slide off, it will crack off.
- Foundation that doesn't last. Try a 8-12 hour formula like Extra Lasting Liquid Foundation
- No Powder. Once you've got all your layers on set everything with a dusting of a fine powder like Ideal Flawless Pressed or Ideal Flawless Loose powders
Once again moderation is key here otherwise you'll get the "cakey" look. Speaking from experience, there really is such a thing as too much cover. Foundation and powder are not concealers. They're for evening skin tone and setting. Try not not to get carried away.
For more staying power do not apply more powder use a makeup setting spray like Ben Nye's Final Seal Matte Makeup Sealer. Sorry ladies, unlike Avon products you might find this a little hard to come by. Shop around for a good price. I Confess, I always have a jug of the stuff. Its perfect for sweltering summer months.
Ahh the feeling when you put on a fresh, crisp, white button down for work. Add a blazer, some cute heels and by the time you turn your head to take a look in the mirror you look like Bruce Willis' stunt double for Die Hard.
Still collars remained a problem. When I asked others for advice the common response was "Just don't put makeup on your chin, jawline, or neck"
Um. What? Sooo nothing from my cheeks down?... I couldn't do it. So, I rocked the Die Hard look.

Who would have thought that they worked on clothes too!
I always loved these wipes for lazy days when I didn't feel like going through the usual 2 step makeup removing process, or after the gym. No matter how many layers of makeup and setting spray I had on, they were literally gone with a wipe. One wipe! The Makeup Remover Wipes with Mineral Complex are thick and strong but soft enough to use around the eye area for that stubborn mascara and liquid liner.
The durability is what makes them so great for rubbing clothing. The formula is already made specifically for dissolving makeup on your face, so why not a temporary fix for collars during the day. Granted, nothing does it like a good wash but this quick fix is still a big improvement. I now keep a few in my purse just for this purpose. No more messy bleach pen!
