 FAQs

Notary services are not legal advice. Please consult an attorney for legal document preparation.

  • I can notarize most documents, but only when the person signing appears before me in person. I can only witness the signature of the individual who is physically present at the time of notarization.

  • No. I can only notarize signatures made in my presence. If the person who signed the document is not present, I cannot notarize it.

  • All documents must be fully completed before they are notarized, except for the signature. Blank spaces can lead to legal issues later, so I cannot notarize documents with missing information.

  • I am not permitted to notarize the following:

    • A person's own will that they prepared themselves (I can only notarize the attestation clauses for the two witnesses, not the will itself.)

    • Marriage contracts or certificates.

    • Certified copies of government-issued documents like birth certificates, passports, or anything requiring certification of an original record. (You must contact the issuing agency for certified copies.)

  • Please bring a valid, government-issued photo ID (such as a driver’s license, state ID, or passport) and the document you need notarized. Make sure you do not sign the document beforehand—you must sign in front of the Notary.

  • I accept government-issued photo identification such as a driver’s license, state ID, military ID, or passport. The ID must be current (not expired) and must match the name on the document.

  • Fees vary depending on the type of notarization. I will gladly provide a clear fee schedule upon request, and you’ll always know the cost before the notarization takes place.

  • No. As a Notary Public, I am not an attorney and cannot offer legal advice, draft documents, or explain their content. If you have questions about the document itself, please consult an attorney before your appointment.

  • Remote Online Notary services are a secure, government-compliant option that enables online notarizations through live video calls. Your documents are encrypted and legally binding.

  • Yes — I follow nationwide standards and it works in all U.S. states that allow RON. If you’re unsure, contact me and I’ll confirm for you.

  • Many personal, business, and legal documents qualify — including affidavits, school forms, and more.

In New York, electronic signatures can not be used for Powers of Attorney, wills, trusts, or decisions consenting to “Do Not Resuscitate” (DNR) orders.
