Beauty Boss Media Launch
Behind the Scenes at the Avon Beauty Boss Event in NYC
From early glam calls to golden-hour cocktails on the Hudson, I had the honor of representing Avon at an exclusive Beauty Boss press event in New York City. This day wasn’t just about makeup and fashion (though there was plenty of that too!) — it was a celebration of confidence, leadership, and the power of showing up fully as yourself.
Fellow rep. Lydia Osolinsky and I were invited to speak as panelists alongside senior Avon leaders, celebrity makeup artist Lauren Andersen, and renowned dermatologist Dr. Kim Nichols to help launch the “This is Boss Life” campaign. Our stories accompanied Avon’s national commercial and were featured on YouTube as part of a series highlighting what being a #BeautyBoss really means.
A Full-Day Experience That Blended Beauty with Purpose
The day began bright and early — no makeup, just excitement — as Lydia and I were picked up by car service and taken to the event venue for breakfast and full glam. With the help of the Avon beauty team, we got pampered and glammed up before stepping into a beautifully curated experience built around confidence and sharing our unique stories.
Each session of the day brought in a new wave of editors, bloggers, and content creators who explored five interactive product stations:
🧴 Skincare Demos with Dr. Kim Nichols and the VISIA complexion scanner
💄 Makeup Tutorials with Lauren Andersen
🌸 Fragrance Journey with perfumers from Firmenich
💍 Jewelry & Fashion Styling with Michael Sengstack
📸 Beauty Boss Photo Station with Avon Reps (that’s us!)
At each session, I had the chance to speak about my journey — not just as an Avon Representative, but as a woman in a male-dominated field (Architecture) who found joy, confidence, and financial freedom through beauty. I shared how embracing my story helped me overcome self-doubt, and how building a brand around what makes me feel most like myself has unlocked opportunities I never imagined.
Ending the Day in True Boss Life Fashion
The day wrapped with a gorgeous cocktail reception overlooking the Hudson River. As the sun set (and the New Jersey skyline glowed in golden light), I couldn’t help but reflect on how meaningful it is to be part of something that helps women feel seen, powerful, and capable of creating the life they want.
